Happy New Year.... bleh. I knew winter had to show up eventually... freezing rain started last night... at least I have flex time, I didn't leave for work til almost a quarter after 9... less traffic, but the ones who are out are the people who don't have jobs, so they don't care how long it takes them to get where they're going... all I know is, if I didn't have a job, I would stay the hell home with my kitties.... I didn't have any trouble, my tires are fairly new. It was just a pain getting the coating of ice off the car... I just started it up and let it warm up for about 20 mins, and let the defrost do the work. Thankfully I have a good heater & rear window defrost.
Didn't do much for New Year's... didn't work Friday. Jen and I went to Best Buy, so I could buy my cd player for my car, and Jen could spend her gift card... the bitch is, I can't get it installed until February. I wasn't going to buy any DVDs, because it was over $200 total for my cd player ($149, $49.95 installation, $25 or so in misc. charges...), but they had Keen Eddie. After that, we went to Blockbuster, because we both got gift cards from Dan, and their used DVDs were all 3/$25... I got American Splendor, Super Size Me, and Wonderland; Jen got Taking Lives, Saved!, and Garfield...
Didn't do much New Years' Eve, we had a snack din of appetizers (wings, quesadilla wraps, toasted ravioli, mini pizzas) and Bacardi Hurricanes. Watched Garden State, then Ma went to meet Dad for a drink, so we watched Saved, since we figured she'd be offended by it.... at midnight we had asti on the porch and watched the neighbor's fireworks.............
